Say hello to my favorite hall-scape! (I may have created my own word, but it fits!) This hallway opens to our great room. It is a functional use our space, and it’s just plain dreamy. Our mirror and buffet are staple pieces that remain year-round, while everything else changes depending on the season. During Christmas time, you will probably find the buffet covered with gold Christmas garb…maybe a post for December!
Our buffet is something I searched for quite some time. We had so many parameters for the piece, so finding something that checked every box was difficult! We had a serious storage need for all our bar wear; liquor bottles, bar tools, and all our highball glasses, etc. So something with ample storage was important. In addition, part of our hallway leads to our first-floor guest room, so the piece could be no more than 18” deep. I found this beautiful chest from Uttermost’s Revelation sister line. I love the finish and curved legs in particular. The finish is a soft gray with a heavy weathered glaze. It has a classic and traditional look with just a hint of “rustic”. The high legs allow the piece to feel more like a decorative furniture piece than a storage cabinet. It’s a win!
Our mirror is something I found a few years ago at Hobby Lobby. I always take advantage of their department sales and snagged this gorgeous gray mirror for half price. It is large, and by luck it works great with our low ceilings in this area. Unfortunately, it is no longer online but they have many great options in stock.
As an extension of our great room with a monochromatic feel, I wanted an opportunity to pop color. This is where our greenery comes into play. If you’ve read previous posts, you know boxwood is my favorite faux greenery. I utilized boxwood topiaries on both the buffet itself, and on the side for a strong look. I am in LOVE with our standing curved topiary. The pot is a heavy and quality base, and the leaves are so authentic. The curves add a touch of whimsy and life that this area needed. The small topiaries on top are great accents.

Our smaller accessories are combinations of things we have collected throughout the years. The glass candleholders, and tea light candleholders were gifts from my bridal shower, and the frames are from Hobby Lobby. I love to mix both silver and gold tones, and this idea is carried out with our smaller items.
As I mentioned, this area usually rotates accessories out based on the season, so I will post updated looks as the year progresses!
To touch on our bar ware…All of our glasses (minus a few novelty glasses) are from Macy’s. The gold stemless glasses are a favorite of mine, but are no longer on Macy’s website. Here is something similar:
